PINTURA: Panimulang Yugto was my current and most important local comics project to date with my team, Pintura Comics Group. Pintura was my very own pinoy superhero character (https://www.facebook.com/AngPintura), he will have his own comics debut on November 15, 2014. It was an honor that I was given the chance to talk about , including my views on the current state of the Philippine Komiks Industry and how Filipino comics artists adapt during this era of the internet age. My Dad's Story
My friend Chris Barcelona persuaded me to feature my story as a freelance artist in a TV commercial for a contest. After a series of personal interviews (and hesitance), he created his idea to present my story as narrated by my own 5 year old daughter . His original idea was to present my story as a mini documentary. However, when he knew Chesca really loves Superheroes too, he change his idea and created this instead. And it turned out to have more charm than his previous concept. And I loved it a lot, not because I'm in the video or this was my story, but because IT is my 5 year old daughter narrating this in English (English was our third language actually. This TV AD actually won as the 3rd Placer out of 500 plus entries around the world.
